Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026

Orbit - Your SkyGuide ("the App") is built and maintained by RiSa Astronomy, based in Bangalore, India. This policy explains how the App handles your data.

Short version

We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. The App runs entirely in your browser. There is no account, no login, and no server-side data storage.

Location data

The App requests your device location (latitude and longitude) to calculate what is visible in your sky - rise/set times, planet positions, ISS passes, and similar astronomical data.

Data collection

The App does not collect:

Analytics

The website uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate traffic patterns - which pages are visited and how often. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser. No personal data is linked to these analytics. The Android app (distributed via Google Play) does not include any additional analytics SDKs.

Third-party services

The App loads astronomical data from public APIs (such as NASA and CelesTrak) to provide ISS pass predictions, solar weather data, and comet information. These requests do not include any personal information beyond your device's IP address, which is inherent to any web request.

Ads

The App does not display advertisements. There are no ad SDKs or ad networks integrated into the App.

Children's privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any data from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, there is no special risk to children using the App.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date. Since we collect no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
